Siberian ginseng or Eleuthero Root is the common name given to the species Eleutherococcus senticosus. It is named from its herbal properties similar to those of the related ginseng; however it is not a true ginseng as it belongs to a different genus. Eleuthero Root is an adaptogenic herb, which helps the body to adapt to daily stress. It improves physical and mental vitality.

Eleuthero Root is different from other ginsengs. while most ginsengs are used by men, Eleuthero Root is ideal for both men and women. Eleuthero root is used to increase energy and enhance overall health. It is held in high esteem in China where it has been valued for thousands of years.

Eleuthero Root is an excellent balancer for the immune system. It can help ward off bacterial and viral infections and even help protect your animal if there is a contagious disease lurking in your area. Eleuthero Root is thought to combat respiratory infections and has been used to treat bronchitis and chronic lung ailments.

Eleuthero Root (Siberian ginseng) also nutritionally supports the glandular system. It is called an “adaptogen”, which means that it helps the body adapt to any situation which normally would alter its function. Thus it can help you deal with stress.

Eleuthero Root improves physical and mental vitality–

Eleuthero Root, like all ginsengs, acts as a stimulant and overall tonic. It can be taken for long periods, and its action can improve and get better in time.

Eleuthero contains complex polysaccharides (a kind of sugar molecule). These constituents play a critical role in eleuthero’s ability to support immune function. Eleuthero is sometimes combined with other adaptogens, like Korean, Chinese or American ginseng, astragalus, or schisandra, to increase its effectiveness.

It has been shown to enhance mental acuity and physical endurance without the letdown that comes with caffeinated products. There is little doubt that Eleuthero can heighten mental alertness and improve concentration.

In traditional Chinese medicine Eleuthero Root is used as a remedy for the insomnia.
