Garlic

Garlic oil capsules taken six times a day is the recommended amount for a sore throat. Kyolic brand is highly recommended.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Another one of the popular home remedies for sore throat is apple cider vinegar. In fact apple cider vinegar is a natural bacteria-fighting agent that kills the bacteria in the throat and mouth.

Gargling with the vinegar combined with two parts of warm water is a frequent therapy used as a home remedy.

Cayenne Pepper

Capsaicin is similar to a compound found in many cold remedies for breaking up congestion, except that capsaicin works much faster. A tea made with hot cayenne pepper very quickly stimulates the mucus membranes lining the nasal passages to drain, helping to relieve congestion and stuffiness.
