keith-pictureStressed out…The Herb Eleuthero (also known as Siberian ginseng) just might be your answer.

Siberian ginseng is a very popular herb that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. It is also known as- Eleutherococcus senticosus, or Eleuthero (Formerly known as Siberian ginseng, a name banned in the United States by the Ginseng Labeling Act of 2002).

For Stress:

Eleuthero is an “adaptogen,” an agent that helps the body address to stress. Scientists believe it helps prevent “adrenal burnout” caused by ongoing physical or mental challenges. Eleuthero boosts concentration and focus without the letdown than comes from drinking coffee or other sources of caffeine.

Eleuthero supplements are made from the root. The root contains a mixture of components, common to many plants but occurring together in Eleuthero.

These remarkable compounds favorably affect the adrenal glands. Thus by supporting healthy adrenal gland function, Siberian Ginseng helps the body to adapt to stress.

Clinical Trials

Eleuthero extract has been administered to more than 2,100 healthy human subjects in clinical trials for purpose of evaluating its adaptogenic effects.

These studies indicated that Siberian ginseng/or Eleuthero increased the ability of humans to withstand the many adverse physical conditions such as heat, noise, workload increase, exercise, and decompression.

Eleuthero or Siberian Ginseng is held in high esteem in China, where it has been valued for thousands of years. It contains niacin, amino acids, carbohydrates, as well as calcium, potassium, phosphorus, sodium, magnesium, barium, iron, strontium, boron, copper, manganese, chromium, cobalt, germanium and zinc.

Because ginseng both restores and fortifies the body, damaged tissues are encouraged to heal.

Other Uses For Eleuthero

Eleuthero is not only used for stress and fatigue, but is also believed to be helpful for a number of maladies including atherosclerosis, ulcerative colitis, and impaired kidney function. It is believed (based on a few Russian studies) that the active components in Siberian ginseng are superior to the other types.

Blood Pressure

It is thought to help regulate blood pressure by normalizing arterial pressure and measuring arterial wall elasticity. When it is too low it will raise blood pressure and lower it when it is too high.

Memory/Concentration

Eleuthero is used to restore memory, concentration and cognitive abilities which may be impaired by improper blood supply to the brain.

Infections

Eleuthero has been used for preventing colds and flu, and for reducing the severity of herpes simplex virus type 2 infections. It is specifically indicated for people with immune-depression, fatigue, and a lack of vitality and perhaps those who get sick a lot. Unlike the herb Echinacea, it is not an immune stimulant, rather, it is an immune enhancer and helps restore optimum functioning in the immune system.

Conclusion

So if you are stressed out….like so many people are, you might want to consider Eleuthero…formally known in the U.S. at least, as Siberian Ginseng.
