“Acetaminophen (APAP) is the number one cause of drug-induced acute liver failure in the United States. This statistic is now widely accepted and recognized in the medical community. APAP is found in over two hundred non-prescription, over the counter medications (OTC) available to the public. For example, acetaminophen is the only active ingredient in Tylenol. It is also a component found in a vast number of prescription medications, such as Darvocet, Percocet, and Hydrocodone” points out the law firm Toliver& Gainer.

One story at radio and T V. host Clarke Howard’s site dated May 1, 2009 says—” Earlier this week, the FDA announced that it will now compel Tylenol to issue a stronger label warning about the possibility of severe liver damage resulting from acetaminophen.
Attorney William “Gil” Gainer called into the show while Clark was speaking on the topic. According to Gainer, the real problem is that when you haven’t eaten for several days because of a stomach virus, a flu or even a dental operation, you’re at risk of liver damage or failure even when taking recommended doses of acetaminophen. It’s important to note that his opinion differs from that of the FDA. But as Gainer explained, under normal conditions, you have enzymes in your liver that help remove toxins produced by the acetaminophen. However, once you go anywhere from 5 to 7 days without eating, those enzymes no longer work effectively.”

Tylenol is actually one of over 100 brand names of the analgesic acetaminophen that is sold to provide temporary relief of minor headaches, minor muscular aches, overexertion, menstrual cramps, and many other ailments. Acetaminophen is available without a prescription, and is widely used either by itself or in combination with other drugs to produce a wide variety of effects.

Tylenol is clearly one of the most popular painkiller in the United States. Americans take over 8 billion pills (tablets or capsules) of Tylenol each year!

The Facts Of The Matter

In one study released published in the Journal of the American Medical Association healthy adults who took the maximum dose of Tylenol for two weeks were found to have liver damage. Researchers instructed 106 study participants to take 4 grams of Tylenol (eight extra-strength tablets) a day for two weeks, with some taking only Tylenol, and some taking Tylenol combined with an opioid painkiller. The rest of the participants received a placebo. Nearly 40 percent of the participants taking Tylenol or the Tylenol/opioid combination displayed abnormal liver test results that indicated liver damage…the placebo group experienced no problems.

ABC NEWS WARNS IN 2005

In November 2005 published a story with the following facts…

1. People who accidentally ingest too much of the drug acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, may suffer liver failure
   
2. Acetaminophen is the No. 1 cause of acute liver failure.
   
3. Researchers reviewed 662 consecutive cases of liver failure between 1998 and 2003. They found that 275 of the cases were attributable to Tylenol poisoning. The rate increased from 28 percent in 1998 to 51 percent in 2003.
   
4. Seventy-four patients died of liver failure and 23 required transplants.
   
5. There are a number of drugs out there that contain acetaminophen: Tylenol, Excedrin, Vicodin and Percocet are some of the best known.
   

   Long Tern Use Can Cause Kidney Damage
   

Health writer Mike Adams points out that “research shows that long-term use of acetaminophen — sold under the brand name Tylenol — harms kidneys. This research was conducted on 1,700 women, and spanned 11 years. Overall, it showed that 10% of the women experienced a decline in their kidney function, indicating that their kidneys were being harmed by this over-the-counter painkiller. Women who took between 1,500 and 9,000 tablets over their lifetimes raised their risk of kidney impairment by 64%, and women who took more than 9,000 tablets increased their risk even further…. As a whole, over-the-counter painkillers are responsible for killing over 40,000 Americans each year — that includes aspirin, acetaminophen, and other painkillers.”

God’s Alternatives

There are many alternatives to these dangerous drugs. Such alternatives include Tumeric, Jamaican Dogwood, White Willow Bark, Water (yes water) and numerous others. Of course an overall healthy lifestyle is crucial—it is extremely unwise to simply take medication without stopping and finding out the real cause and addressing that cause as opposed to masking the body’s warning signs and symptoms. Not only do these drugs not address the root cause but they bring with them a host of potential problems…the ultimate being death.

Someone asked me recently about natural remedies to dissolve blood clots; below is a brief look at some things that can support the body in dissolving dangerous blood clots…it is not meant neither should it be construed to be medical advice or all inclusive.

Exercise Helps Dissolve Clots

Regular moderate exercise increases the body's ability to dissolve clots. One of the most important things is daily exercise outside in the fresh air, walking briskly every day.

Drink plenty of water every day…helps keeps the blood from getting thick, damaging the vessels and leading to clots.

FOODS TO EAT

Fruits, vegetables, raw nuts, seeds legumes, and whole grains…be sure to include plenty of fiber in the diet

Drink fresh carrot juice as often as possible.

FOODS TO AVOID

Fried food, salty food, processed food, dairy products or hydrogenated vegetables oils. Eat a vegan diet if at all possible. High protein diets increases blood clotting factors.

Fasting

Fasting decreases blood coagulation…it is good to fast once or twice per week

Drugs

Avoid birth control pills.

Herbs/Remedies

Niacin can help, Vitamin C supplementation can help, and vitamin E (two 400 IU daily).

Cleanse the colon with a good herbal colon cleanse.

Then cleanse the liver with herbs like dandelion etc.

Then cleanse the blood with blood cleansing herbs…in that order

Sassafras

The herb Sassafras has been used to help dissolve blood clots. Dr. Christopher N.D. M.H. wrote "Here is an herb that is the finest spring tonic known to man. It thins the blood as it cleanses old sludge from the bloodstream. We have used it successfully for people who have suffered from blood clots and formerly needed to take toxic blood-thinning drugs." Black Strap Molasses/And Other Remedies

Two tablespoons 2 -3 times a day should compose a part of your program as well. 1) High doses of enzymes Nattokinase (Supplement) Vitalzyme, (Supplement) stop the initiating process in clot formation (fibrin formation). 2) Omega 3 Essential Fatty acids because they make blood more fluid thus inhibiting the formation of clots(there are vegan formulas available 3) Gingko Biloba taken twice daily also prevents clotting in a safe manner.

Also ginger, cayenne, and garlic can be added to such a program daily.
