We\u2019re #RaisingExpectations for just how good plant protein can taste.<\/p>\n<p>The product line, Raised &amp; Rooted, isn\u2019t available in stores yet, according to the company\u2019s website. The launch pits Tyson TSN, -0.84% \u00a0 against smaller innovators including Beyond Meat BYND, +5.40% \u00a0 and Impossible Foods in the fast-growing meatless market, which could swell to $140 billion in the next 10 years, Barclays said recently.<\/p>\n<p>Tyson first announced in February that it planned to debut a vegan protein this year.<\/p>\n<p>Noel White, president and chief executive at Tyson Foods, said during its first-quarter earnings call that the brand aimed to make \u201cprotein alternatives.\u201d The company invested in California-based vegan meat alternative company Beyond Meat in 2016, and sold its stake this spring. The products subject to recall bear establishment number \u201cP-13556\u201d inside the USDA mark of inspection.<\/p>\n<p>The problem was discovered after Tyson received consumer complaints of extraneous material in purchased Panko Chicken Nugget products.<\/p>\n<p>There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
